This model is their first step towards an electrified future, and preserves McLaren’s super-lightweight engineering philosophy when adding hybrid powertrain elements like the E-motor and battery pack. New McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) is optimised for high-performance hybrid applications, with a bespoke battery
