Italian car brand Alfa Romeo will be releasing its first fully electric vehicle in 2024 and does not have plans to do so before then. In 2022 the Alfa Romeo Tonale: La Metamorfosi hybrid style vehicle was released within New Zealand and provides a sleek response to the boom in hybrid and electric cars within the country. In the Hybrid version, Alfa Romeo offers a “true electrified driving experience: making its exclusive debut is the brand-new 48-volt Hybrid propulsion system, specific to Alfa Romeo, which can propel the wheels even when the internal combustion engine is turned off.”
They have not yet released a statement on when the electric range will be available in Aotearoa New Zealand although they do plan to have a fully electric fleet by 2027.
