Arup
For over seven decades Arup has been at the forefront of the most ambitious and challenging building design and structural engineering. They aim to identify a balance between the needs of a growing world population and the finite capacity and health of the planet. Arup’s primary goal is to develop a truly sustainable built environment.
Recently, Arup led the inaugural Zero Emissions Bus (ZEB) forum alongside government and industry, focusing on transforming the bus system to net-zero. Charting the issues and opportunities, Arup laid the foundations for a new nation-building project, and continues to work alongside the likes of Auckland Transport, who is targeting a full ZEB fleet by 2040, with all buses to be procured as zero-emission vehicles from 2025, and the Wellington Council, who expects to have around 110 ZEBs on the road (25% of the fleet) by mid-2023 and 100% by 2035.
